Before the Bible became a bound book, it pulsated with life and humanity. Sean Gladding invites us to eavesdrop on the dialogues of those engaging with the Story of God for the very first time. Picture people gathered around a crackling campfire in Babylon, lounging at a table in Asia Minor, or huddled together by the soft glow of candlelight in Rome. In these moments, we encounter individuals experiencing the Story for the first time and the hundred-and-first time. Together, we unravel a narrative that feels both familiar and unexpectedly fresh. "The Story of God, the Story of Us" unfolds Scripture as a captivating tale that introduces us to characters who mirror ourselves. For as much as the Bible narrates God's story, it also weaves the intricate threads of our own—a narrative, perhaps, we've yet to fully grasp.
